Our Garden

A little while ago the boys and i decided to do some gardening.
we headed down the street to our local hardware and supermarket and bought a few different kind of herbs and a few other plants.
Here is our coriander we grew from seed.
Shallots from seed.
Tomato plant which has grown really fast.

The boys had to have purple Capsicum.
Raspberry plant we will have a few to pick in a couple of weeks.

Italian parsley from seed.

Basil from seed.

 Thyme from seed.

Australian parsley from seed.

and chives from seed.

we also have some strawberry plants growing and a chili plant

We are very proud of our garden and already use our herbs in my cooking.
So fresh.

First Attempt

Tomato and Capsicum relish.

I thought i would try and make my very first relish and i tell you what i am going to keep making relish lol.
I'm not a relish person but my partner and father in law love it and my SIL's do too.
For fathers day i went to our local store called  Country Simplicity and made up some hampers with some relishes and other preserves for them and the big hit was the tomato and capsicum relish so that's when i got my idea of making it myself.
So finally i did.

I got the recipe from HERE but added a teaspoon of chili flake and used
red wine vinegar instead of the white wine vinegar as i heard it gives it a bit more flavor.
Think these might have to go in a Christmas hamper
even got them to seal right thanks to a little tip from my SIL.

A nice change

I have be wanting to cut my hair for a long time now but had been chickening out for the past year.
You see i have not had my hair cut short for around 8 yrs and the hairdresser is a bit of a phobia of mine so when it does get a trim its mostly me that does it.

So yesterday it was OFF WITH MY HAIR finlay  and god does it feel good.

Nice and short now the count down is on too see how long it will take to grow back:)
Have a great day....
